6 DAYS IN DARKNESS

Tiny flakes fall
Surrounding the gash my guts once filled
Pain pours out
Spilling until all that is left is a six pack of empties
Lying on the floor
For the rats to assess

Wheels squeel away as if a dead body were just thrown from the car
Leaving me under the spotlight of shame beneath my thinnly veiled ivory tower

The icy cold air warms my heart
Emptiness leaves me alone on the edge of the river bank
The river laughs as the flowing water prepares to form an icy tomb
The hands remain cold
Deep dark blankets of white are begining to form
Even my breath disappers from thin air without a trace

Wheels squeel away as if a dead body were just thrown from the car
Leaving me under the spotlight of shame beneath my thinnly veiled ivory tower
